Timbre · London

We clone the coach,
not the workout.

Timbre is a proposed digital twin that carries a coach's method and a client's context between sessions.

The problem

A coach's time does not scale.

Coaching runs on time, attention and a relationship built over repeated sessions. Between those sessions, the client is on their own. Our hypothesis: support between sessions can help clients stay engaged when life gets in the way. Early discovery with coaches is testing whether this is a problem worth paying to solve.

Cost

The sessions got too expensive

Weekly 1:1s are a lot to keep paying for.

Distance

I moved city

The coach stayed behind, and so did the method.

Motivation

Motivation dipped

Nobody noticed in time to adjust the plan.

Life

Life got messy

The program stayed the same while everything else changed.

The product concept

A twin of the coach, not another app.

The coach keeps the relationship and oversight. The twin supports the work between sessions, in the coach's own style.

Method · their cues

Sounds like the coach

Built around each coach's cues, progressions and personality, so advice sounds like them and follows their rules.

Memory · their client

Never starts from zero

Carries what happened last session into the next conversation.

Context · their week

Reads the situation

With client consent, uses sleep, schedule and life context to shape the conversation.

Thanks for telling me. Short night, so we keep tomorrow light: squat 3×5 instead of 4×6, and stop at RPE 6. Do the ten-minute hip routine first, like we practised.Thu 21:43 · supervised by Sam

What needs to be proven

The honest ledger.

Timbre is a set of claims to test before any claim of scale.

HypothesisWhat we're testingStatus
Method fidelityDoes the twin make the call the coach would have made, across real client situations?Untested
Tone as signalDoes voice tone add useful context beyond what the client says? Explored as a cue for the coach, never a diagnosis.Untested
Trust & valueWill coaches and clients trust it enough to use it between sessions, and is it worth paying for?Untested
Business model and wedge

Paid by the coach. Online coaches first.

The proposed model is a monthly B2B subscription per coach twin. The coach keeps their client relationship and their coaching revenue.

FirstOnline fitness & nutrition coaches

Already working with clients remotely between check-ins.

NextIndependent trainers

Once the first use case proves out.

LaterGyms & partnerships

Each new field gets its own discovery, evaluation and safety boundaries.

Who pays

The coach, per twin

A subscription priced against the extra clients a twin lets them serve.

Who owns the client

The coach, always

The twin works for the coach, not the other way round.

Still to test

Pricing & cost

Willingness to pay and compute cost are open questions.

Where we are

Start with coaches, then build the demo.

Step 1 · now

Talk to online coaches

Discovery: where does between-session support break down, what do clients need, who would pay?

Step 2

Build one twin

A small, coach-specific prototype built around one real coach's method.

Step 3

Measure it

Test method fidelity and client usefulness against the ledger, before any claim of scale.

Early discovery only. No customer or partnership traction claimed.
